WHAT BUSINESS LEADERS
ARE SAYING
Varme has established our headquarters in Edmonton because of the city’s position as ground zero for the Canadian energy transition. The scale and sophistication of our Industrial Heartland, coupled with the best CCS cap rock in the world make Edmonton an ideal sandbox for Varme. Our current corporate objective is to deploy over $600M in capital to a portfolio of 3 facilities in Alberta
In other major tech hubs, talent is expensive and retention is really difficult. It’s a frustrating environment for fledgling companies. I think it would have been a lot more difficult to get the momentum we developed early on if we weren’t in Edmonton. Today, Edmonton is a city of over a million people, with a really big university and a couple of colleges. The quality of the talent that comes out of these institutions is high.
Residing in Edmonton truly inspires innovation. We are fortunate that our city is home to some of the largest construction companies in Canada, has an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship, and has a highly skilled workforce
